Why not sign up? Why did I?

June Join

I'd be crazy if I did not share this opportunity before the special goes away on June 30, 2020.  I would like to share some thoughts and let you know what being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator has meant to me.

When I signed up, I remember thinking to myself, oh man... what did I just do?  I had resisted signing up for several years.  My cousin introduced me to Stampin' Up! and it was love at first sight.  Ha!  Ha!  I even remember the card we made at her in-home party.  Black card stock, a big butterfly heat embossed and then bleached out with a Q-tip.  My mom was there too, and she said, "Oh, this is right up your ally".  Yep!  I was hooked.

So why did it take me some time to become a Demonstrator?  Well, partly to my defense, I was finishing my Bachelors Degree.  So one day (exactly 2 months and 7 days) after completion of my degree, I went for it!  I signed up to be a Demonstrator and that was almost 10 years ago.

What I love about being a Demonstrator:

I have had almost 10 years of building a small business for myself!  Almost 10 years of being able to buy quality craft supplies at a discount...  Yes, this is a great perk but what I'm about to tell you is the best perk of all.  Although, let me just say, there are many more, such as the fabulous product, product coordination, getting the latest and greatest, being able to set my own schedule, option to be a hobby demo if you want.... BUT do you know what my BIGGEST PERK is?

YOU!!!!!

The connections I have made, the friendships I have gained, and the fellowship of hundreds of crafters just like me.  It has been amazing and is still amazing.

I still love when a new catalog is announced and Demos get first look...

I still love the anticipation of being able to order product before customers..

I still love sharing...

Sharing what I have passion for, Sharing what I love

So, I ask you, Why Not?

I would love for you to Join Me and have these same amazing perks, connections and friendships.

The special runs until June 30, 2020... For $99 you pick $125.00 in product PLUS a FREE Bundle.

When you do sign up, know that it is your decision how you want to run your business.  Do you just want the discount... that's totally fine!  If you want more out of Stampin' Up! just share that with me and I can help guide you.

Love you all!

Thanks for listening.

World of Good Pop-Up Book Card

There is something about a great product suite that is not only masculine, but old world, has lots of foils and is just easy to work with.  Well, this New product suite called World of Good offers all of that!

So I bit the bullet ladies.... I held my first Zoom card class.  I have been a guest on many Zoom meetings but I had not hosted my own meeting.  So I took a leap of faith and said, just go for it an see what happens.  Luckily, I think it went pretty well.  I wanted to be able to connect and stamp with others so I offered a free creative fold class.

Everyone picked out there own designer series paper with two or three designs and some coordinating card stock.  I walked them through how to make this really cool pop-up book card.

For my card, I chose to use the World of Good product suite and I absolutely love how it came out.   I highly recommend the Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer for this card!

Here's the front of the card...

So as you can see, how I designed mine, there is no space for you to write anything or sign it.  Here are 2 options to work around that:

  • as a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to the back of the card for your final sentiment and writing/signing the card
  • or... my two Very Vanilla pieces on the inside pop-up, use one of those for your writing/signing

Note:  as I was not able to pre-order the Coordinating Brass Foil Sheets, I used with Gold Foil.  I included the Brass Foil Sheets in my Supply list below

I ended up turning this card into a Father's Day Card.  I did not take a photo for sentimental reasons, but I used words from the "A Good Man" stamp set which was a nice touch.

Prized Peony - Framed Card

So I finally received my much anticipated shipment from Stampin' Up!  And in that box, my much anticipated product suite, Peony Garden.  It is gorgeous.  Very elegant and I would say, has muted colors in the Designer Series Paper, Peony Garden DSP.  You HAVE to see it!!!  I am so excited to start playing with the entire suite.

Today's project is part of my SAVI Sunday Video Series.  I wanted to show how you can take a simple, one-layered card, and step it up to add a little drama, detail, or... well, I guess dimension is the word I am looking for.   I love the simplicity of it and the Peony flower is so pretty and detailed.

Card Base:  Magenta Madness cut 8-1/2 x 5-1/2

Whisper White:  Cut 5-3/8 x 4-1/8

I stamped the flower and words in Memento Black Ink.

Used my Blender Pen with Magenta Madness and Mossy Meadow inks to color.

Then I cut a frame out using 2 of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and pieced the frame back to the card with Dimensionals.

Forever Greenery Paper Strip Background

Here's another card using the Forever Greenery Product Suite.  I had fun making this card as I had not tried the "strip" background method before.

So in making cards with the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, there were several scraps left over and I wanted to use them.  Normally, I just throw them in my bag and there they sit, unused.  Sooooo, this is a fantastic way to use up all those pieces.  Man why haven't I tried this before?

PicsArt_06-18-06.41.09

I made sure all my strips of Designer Series Paper where 1/2" wide.  The length was all different sizes as you can piece them in and trim off the excess.  Just start my laying a couple down in the same direction making sure there are no gaps.  Rotate directions and keep going until your Whisper White paper is completely covered.

The strips of DSP are adhered to a piece of Whisper White that is 5-3/8" x 4-1/8".  And the best part is Stampin' Up! brought back Adhesive Sheets so I just covered my Whisper White with that to adhere my paper strips!  Easy Peasy!

What's an Adhesive Sheet?  It is sheets of super sticky adhesive that turns anything into a sticker.  So I cut my Adhesive Sheet to that same dimension of 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 and adhered to my Whisper White, then peeled off the top protective paper to expose the adhesive.  Great for detailed die cuts too but more about that in another post.

CARD DETAILS:

  • Pretty Peacock CS base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2
  • Whisper White CS 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 cover in strips of 1/2" DSP
  • Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper.... the Gold fold fern label
  • Tasteful Label Die cut in Whisper White (word and Fern stamps done in Pretty Peacock and Pear Pizzazz)
  • Couple of snips from a Forever Gold Laser-Cut fern piece
  • Piece of Gold cording from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack

Here's a close up.... look at all that shine!

Hi there... thanks for joining me for my Forever Fern Multi-Layered Panel Card.  I really enjoy having multiple layers on my cards and sneaking in an extra color or accent color.  Or sometimes putting in a color that you thought would never coordinate.

But as usual, when I started working with it, I really like it.  I have a whole slew of projects to share with you so make sure you sign up for my blog notifications.
